Meet Nick

Nicholas Balaisis, PhD

I see therapy as a welcoming space where you can explore all aspects of your self in a supportive and non-judgemental environment. It is a place where you can gain insights about yourself and help to manage difficult experiences and emotions.

My goals as a therapist are to help you identify and explore challenges or roadblocks in your life and to provide new perspectives that support self-awareness, personal growth, and stronger relationships.

By exploring our thoughts and feelings in a therapeutic setting, my ultimate aim as a therapist is to help you live a more meaningful and authentic life that includes more satisfying and connected relationships.

Couple Health is proud to include Nicholas Balaisis, PhD, as part of our team. ‘Nick’ completed his Masters in Psychotherapy and Spiritual Care at Martin Luther University College in 2019. He works with individuals and couples in acute and long-term therapy. He has completed Level 1 specialization in Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), in addition to CBT, DBT and existential approaches. He has a PhD in Communication (York) and currently teaches interpersonal communication at the University of Waterloo.

Nick sees clients for individual and couples counselling online and at the Kitchener office; he can offer daytime or evening appointments.
